Welcome to MomLovesBub!
If you are a mom or a mom-to-be and new to this wild ride of parenthood, join me on my journey and know you are not alone! It definitely is a jungle out there and surviving this amazing, yet somehow frightening, adventure of motherhood, is not easy. But with handy tips, good advise and real stories to relate to it can be a whole lot easier.
My name is Julia, I am a 28-year-old Stay-At-Home mom to a lovely baby boy and married. My husband was a teenage single dad, so I even happen to be a Step-Grandma (yes, you read right!) to two beautiful young kids.
After finishing my Masters of Education in Philosophy, English and Educational Science, I left my home country Germany to explore the world on my own. Well, I didn’t get far. While back-packing Australia, I fell in love and eight months later, we got married. That sounds less boring if you know that I met my husband in the Australian Outback, where he was bull catching bare-handedly, living like a real live Crocodile Dundee.
Now, being a new mom everyday brings so much joy, yet so many challenges. Already very early on in my pregnancy, I discovered that almost everything is different from what I have been told and nothing is like I expected. On more than one occasion I asked myself, why didn’t my mom tell me about that – or my granny (or any other female with children in my family)? They must have experienced this.
Anyways, I think it is important to share the good, the bad, the ugly about pregnancy, being a mom, and even giving birth. We need advice, tips and stories we relate to so we know there is nothing we can’t handle. That is why, I decided to write this blog. I want to share not only my personal experience as real as it can get, but also let you in on what I figured to be true or not true about motherhood and pregnancy.
Growing up in a foreign culture, as well as raising my little boy bilingual, definitely puts a lot of things into a different perspective. Luckily, my background in Educational Science provides me with heaps of knowledge regarding Language Acquisition, parenting approaches, and mental development of infants and toddlers. Understanding my child and what is going on in his little mind is very important to me.
My family is my pride and nothing makes me happier than spending time with my baby boy and my husband. Though having Pizza is right up there. I simply love Pizza, a good book and dancing. A great passion of mine is – not hard to guess – writing. So combing family with writing and sharing what motherhood really looks like, is what I consider as pretty perfect.
